Ms. Lyons earned her J.D. degree from Villanova University School of Law in 2010. She served on the executive board of the SBA and as President of Phi Delta Phi. She has also served as the Philadelphia Sub-Regional Director for the Mid-Atlantic Black Law Students Association. At Villanova she focused on trial advocacy, employment discrimination law and criminal law.
Before entering law school she received extensive experience in complex litigation as a paralegal at both Dechert and Morgan Lewis. During her time at Villanova, Ms. Lyons completed a federal judicial externship with Senior Judge Thomas O’Neill and interned at the Public Defenders Association handling preliminary hearings and municipal court trials. She was a summer associate at Reed Smith, LLP in Philadelphia, PA and then in the Employment Discrimination Group of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Lyons earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Ursinus College, where she also minored in English and Spanish. In 2004, she graduated as a member of Psi Chi, National Psychology Honor Society and Gamma Sigma Alpha, National Greek Honor Society. During her time at Ursinus, Samantha was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity; and at Villanova, an active member of the Pro Bono Society, participating in programs such as Alternative Spring Break and Street Law.
Ms. Lyons is a Philadelphia native and a proud alum of the Philadelphia H.S. for Girls. An avid horseback rider and reader, she continues her active volunteering with Philadelphia’s Work To Ride program and the TreeHouse Books organization. In addition, she is the current Vice Chair of the Board of Delegates of the International House of Philadelphia. She serves Tiagha & Associates as an associate handling corporate, litigation and zoning matters.
