Within the first few months of opening the doors of our predecessor firm, we welcomed our first summer intern, Jia Qinglin, managing partner of the Beijing Bailun Law Firm in Beijing, China. He was a member of the 10th year Anniversary class of the Temple University-Tsinghua University LL.M. program, which is one of the most renowned international legal exchange programs in China, having been recognized by both the U.S. and Chinese governments for its achievements. We celebrated Mr. Qinglin’s graduation from the program in Beijing, China in October 2009. Mr. Qinglin proved to be an excellent host and has been most supportive to our firm and our clients who are looking for legal and business solutions in China. Mr. Qinglin’s focuses his practice on Corporation, Securities and Trade and Investment issues.
Pablo Soto Méndez is an attorney admitted to the bar in Spain who specializes in Labor Law and Social Security Law. Mr. Méndez was looking for exposure to an American law practice specifically with a focus on Immigration law. His love for all things Philadelphia – specifically our beloved Sixers – led him to our firm. Mr. Méndez is part of the new generation of Spanish lawyers committed to the art of doing justice. He got his Law degree from the prestigious University of Santiago de Compostela. Mr. Méndez received his initial training as a lawyer in Legal Practice School of Madrid, through practical training received by the best lawyers and judges in Madrid. He has been advising clients in Galicia (Northwest of Spain) as a solo practitioner and in collaboration with other colleagues. Check out his blog on the Sixers at www.sixers29.com. Johann R. Cornielle is a licensed attorney from the Dominican Republic, admitted in Pennsylvania as a Foreign Legal Consultant for Dominican legal matters. Born in Madrid, Spain, raised in Santo Domingo and currently residing in Philadelphia, Johann has been part of our team since 2009.Mr. Cornielle advises individuals and corporations in the U.S. and from around the world regarding their legal matters in the Dominican Republic ranging from the establishment and operation of business entities, exporting goods, real estate transactions, insurance claims, adoption and family law matters. Coupling his knowledge and experience of Dominican Law with his vast professional network, Johann assists clients achieve their objectives. Prior to moving to the U.S., Mr. Cornielle was an associate in one of Santo Domingo’s most prestigious law firms, “Oficina de Abogados Dr. Carlos Cornielle”, where he worked as a staff attorney for five years, focusing his practice in the areas of Civil, Employment and Corporate Law. Johann is experienced in drafting contracts, incorporating companies in the D.R., handling mergers and acquisitions, as well as litigating on civil and employment matters for both local and foreign companies. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Cornielle served as an attorney for the Dominican Government’s Housing Ministry, advising and representing the Ministry in all employment litigation matters, as well as handling international contracts and agreements entered by the Ministry with multilateral organizations and international companies. Mr. Cornielle earned his law degree from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in April 1999, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. In May 2007, he graduated from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law with a Master of Law Degree (LLM), with a concentration on Business Law. Mr. Cornielle is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English and proficient in French.
